Dr Anand Patel
Principal Dentist & Prosthodontic Specialist
Dr Anand was born and raised in Fiji. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1996, he worked briefly in Alice Springs before returning to Fiji where he practised for 11 years, established a private dental practice, lectured at the Fiji School of Medicine, and served on the Fiji Dental Council.
He was among the first dentists to introduce dental implants to Fiji. In 2008, he completed his Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics with Distinction at Kings College, University of London. In 2015, he earned his Masters of Science in Oral Implantology from Goethe University, Germany, and completed advanced implant surgery training at the Anatomy School of Vienna Medical College.
Dr Anand relocated to Australia in 2009, arriving in Darwin in 2010 to establish Extreme Dentistry. In 2022, he was awarded the commendation medal and Diplomat status by the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI).
He currently teaches and serves as a key opinion leader for bone and soft tissue regeneration, working with international dental professionals on titanium frame welding techniques.
Personal interests: 4WD vehicles, woodworking, home cinema, scuba diving (rescue diver), martial arts (Black Belt).
Dr Minoo Vellani
Registered Dental Sedationist
Dr Minoo operated a private dental practice in Sydney for over 20 years before choosing to specialise in sedation dentistry. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Conscious Sedation and Pain Control) from Sydney and has been a registered dental sedationist with the Dental Board since 2006.
Her role at Extreme Dentistry is to bridge the gap between patient and dentist — providing anxiety-free experiences during complex dental procedures. Whether it is conscious sedation or general anaesthetic, Dr Minoo ensures you are comfortable and safe throughout your treatment.
